On May 16, 2018, a jury in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County awarded plaintiff Soila Enriquez a $6.3 million verdict. The verdict was based on injuries that Plaintiff sustained after being struck by a Prevost tour bus, operated by defendant tour bus company Gonzalez Travel & Tours Inc., while walking in a downtown Los Angeles cross walk on August 14, 2015. As a result of the accident, Plaintiff suffered open fractures in both legs and severe degloving injuries. She has had to undergo multiple surgeries and has since developed complex regional pain syndrome. Plaintiff now requires in-home care.

The $6,298,237 verdict is divided into $2 million for past general damages, $898,000 for past medical expenses, $2 million for future general damages and $1.4 million for future medical expenses.

The case is: Enriquez v. Gonzalez Travel & Tours et al., Case No.: BC619159, in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
