Former Miami University football player, Rasheed Ali, was hit head-on by a UPS delivery truck while stopped at a stoplight in August 2013. The UPS driver made an illegal turn, noting in his deposition that he was looking the opposite way while turning. Ali suffered a multitude of injuries, including a closed head injury, shoulder injury, and cervical and lumbar herniated discs. Ali will feel the effects of many of these injuries the rest of his life. The $5 million jury verdict came from a Miami-Dade circuit court.
