A potential mass tort action may be in the works against Monsanto Co. over the company’s herbicide, Roundup. In the last month, plaintiffs in three different states (Delaware, California and New York) have filed claims stating Roundup use has led to cancer. This wave of litigation has emerged following a declaration in March by the World Health Organization stating there is sufficient evidence to classify glyphosate (Roundup’s main ingredient) as a carcinogen to humans. Reportedly, the claims present strong evidence tying Roundup use to non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Law firms all over the country have begun to offer free evaluations in order to find other potential plaintiffs for this growing litigation.
